Vacancy Details 

Job title: Technical Procurement Officer

Location: Nigeria

Duration: Permanent. 

Industry: Chemicals, manufacturing, non-food consumer goods

Role Summary:

This  role avail the candidate to perform professional-level purchasing tasks associated with formal and informal purchasing, contract negotiations, scope of work development, interpreting and creating final procurement documents involving a wide variety of materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the organisation. 


Basic Requirement

Education& Skills: 

  • First degree in purchasing, supply chain management, business administration, engineering or related field.
  • Master degree in business management is an added advantage
  • Professional certification in procurement/purchasing/supply chain management
  • Effective communication, coordination, good judgment, decision making, organization, time management, service orientation, negotiation, good computer literate and numerical skills.

Job responsibilities:

  • Secures price quotations and prepares terms, conditions, and/or specifications for prospective purchases. 
  • Participates in bid tabulation, and places orders for technical materials, equipment, supplies, and services.
  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnership
  • Negotiate with external vendors  to secure advantageous terms
  • Prepares technical specifications in conjunction with requesting department and invite for bidding. 
  • Analyzes bids submitted and identifies the best bid.
  • Work with management to control spending and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement savings.
  • Provide some technical support to requesting departments
  • Provide monthly reporting of activities.
