Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) is a Nigerian-based nongovernmental organization formed in 2001 by 14 individuals to be the voice for women in careers and businesses. In addition, the organization was established to create a platform for women to interact and address gender inequalities in the workplace and businesses and assist them  manage these challenges. WIMBIZ offers a variety of programmes throughout the year, which are focused on developing the leadership capacity of women and building value added business relationships.

We are currently seeking to engage a dynamic, passionate, result-oriented and self-motivated individual to fill up the position of an Accountant for the organization. The individual hired for this position will have financial oversight of the organization’s operations.


Job Description:

  • Manage the inflow and outflow of funds
  • Compile and analyse financial information for each program and the organization as a whole
  • Prepare financial reports and bank reconciliation analysis (monthly, quarterly and annually) on a timely basis
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted accounting policies and procedures
  • Prepare product/programme cost accounting, product/programme price development and inventory management and control
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and control procedures
  • Ensure that all financial records and source documents are kept up-to-date and coordinate the external audit exercise
  • Manage WIMBIZ’s tax liability and ensure that payments are remitted promptly
  • Prepare the organization’s yearly budget, cash flow and funding analysis
  • Prepare accurate program income and expense report for donors/sponsors
  • Work with the Management team to improve forecasting, budgeting, planning and financial analyses processes
  • Manage the organisation’s payroll and support the HR function
  • Analyse and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitment and future revenue streams
  • Manage the secretariat’s administrative function and ensure 


Qualification Required

  • Accounting degree or equivalent
  • A professional certificate such as ICAN or ACCA will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS reporting guidelines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites and QuickBooks accounting software
  • Knowledge of auditing practices and principle
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice.
