Customer Service Clerk serves customers by providing information, responding to requests, resolving problems, collecting revenue and can assist in creating a job application that will attract job candidates who are qualified for the job.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
  • Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
  • Enter customer information into database for eligibility of Wakefern programs.
  • Provides information to customers by verifying understanding of request; answering questions; offering assistance.
  • Initiates service by recording requests; forwarding to dispatching.
  • Collects revenue by receiving and recording payments.
  • Resolves billing problems by identifying the problem; explaining procedures; forwarding required adjustments.
  • Improves quality results by evaluating processes; recommending changes.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplishes customer service and organization mission by completing related results as needed.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Applicants need to be educated to a high standard and possess a recognized general educational qualification.
  • A Customer Services Clerk must have excellent communication skills as both written and verbal skills are essential for this role.
  • To be successful as a Customer Services Clerk applicants must be methodical and be able to demonstrate an understanding of basic accounting.
  • Previous experience may not be required, but would be an advantage, especially if applicants have worked as a Customer Services Clerk in Shipping and Logistics previously.
  • Applicants must be able to operate Microsoft Word and Excel programs efficiently.
