The Manager, Operations’ position will consist of directing, coordinating and supervising fields’ operational activities; such as crew and vessels deployment, crew training and amongst other ancillary duties.


Duties and Responsibilities

Ensuring Company vessels are manned with suitably qualified and experienced personnel Processing voyage instructions and monitoring voyages as per Charter Party requirements

Appointing vessels agents to follow-up requirements of the C/P

Advising Masters of C/P Terms

Following up voyage execution and vessel performance at sea and in port

Issuing vessel’s position list on a weekly basis

Checking and authorizing payment of disbursement accounts bunker receipts, cargo and bunkering surveyors’ fees

Collecting and processing voyage documents, managing quotations for bunkers and arranging fueling and potable water for vessels.

Co-operating with the Technical Department regarding vessels requirements in relation to performance, maintenance and operational improvements.

Supervising all vessels’ operations in port and en-route;ensuring efficient and safe use of the equipment and compliance of the vessel with her contractual obligations

Reporting any identified non-conformances, accidents or near misses to the DPA, assisting with investigations into the cause and putting forward suggestions for corrective and preventive action

Following IMO, ICS and other industry related developments



Technical Capacity, Problem Solving/Analysis, Customer/Client Focus, Decision Making, Project Management, Communication Proficiency, Teamwork Orientation.



5 to 7 years’ work experience in Business Administration or Management.

Bachelor’s degree / Higher National Diploma in any Business Administration or Management discipline

A master’s degree will be an added advantage.

Experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for leadership, performance management and hiring of the employees within its department.
