A career in entertainment can take you around the world. There are many ways to achieve this. Let’s focus just on music to illustrate the example:

Let’s say you play the guitar or are a great singer. Did you know that African bands regularly tour other countries? There are ‘grass-roots’ touring circuits that folk and world bands do in countries like the USA, Australia, Canada and the UK and the people there love to include bands from Africa in the line up.

On top of international touring, you can teach your way around the world. If you’re qualified with an international syllabus like ABRSM or if you’re teaching contemporary instruments like guitar or drums without a qualification aside from your experience as a performer, then tuition either privately or in a music school is an option for you. Consider this music teacher network that offers music lessons in Australia as well as tuition in the UK, music teachers in the USA and websites like Musical Study. This is just one example, but the point is that music tuition is an in-demand skill.

Lastly, you can join a band that performs on a cruise ship. What a way to travel and get paid to perform!

So, as you can see, being in the entertainment industry can be a way to see the world, if you’re clever about how you go about it.

See you there. 🙂
