5 Good Ways To Balance Schooling With Work

Coping as an undergraduate or graduate student in this fast-paced world is no doubt a herculean task, not to talk of combining studies with work. While others hit their way home or to the club from work, you drag your unwilling self to the evening class. If you are married, the situation becomes more demanding as you also have to fulfill your responsibilities towards your bills and children.
If you do not take caution, an imbalance will occur and an aspect (or more) of your life will be at a loss. It is, therefore, imperative to know how well you can combine school with work to get the best results and here are 5 great ways you can achieve that:
1.    Re-organise your life.
Before you picked up schooling again, your life went in a certain way. You had your scheduled time for your everyday activity. Now that schooling has come in, your activities would be altered. You may have to re-organise your time to fit into your new life. Perhaps, your current disorganised state is as a result of your trying to do things the way they were done before. It is time to sit and create a new time-table that would place your life in order.
2.    Start prioritising.
Everything seems to grab your attention at the same time. While you prepare dinner with a distracted mind on the sales report you must submit tomorrow, you remember the class assignment you are yet to do. Which would you attend to first?  Do not panic. All you need do is to list your needs in the order of importance. Doing this will improve your efficiency and help you meet your goals at the right time. On the other hand, when you do not prioritise, you will end up achieving nothing. One warning, though –do not be rigid.Ensure that you are flexible enough to adapt to changing circumstances.
3.    Get others informed.
Telling others about your busy life will make them empathise and want to help you in any way they can. For example, if your colleague is aware of your schooling, he or she may be willing to stand in for you when the need arises. Your cousin may just be in place to help you babysit your children while you are at school. Never be afraid to ask for help when needed. It will not be smooth running the hurdle alone, but with assistance, it will be easier.
4.    Manage stress.
That you will not encounter stress is a lie I will not keep away from you. Stress is inevitable and will sometimes come like a flood. When it comes, take some time off to relax and catch some fun – watch movies, swim, and of course, exercise. Also, eating a balanced diet helps to relieve stress. Some vitamins help you lower your stress. Vitamin C, vitamin A, and vitamins B-1 and B-6, are anti-stress vitamins that help your body deal with stress. 5.    Believe in yourself.
If others could do it, why can’t you? It will not be easy, but taking one day (or step) at a time will get you to your destination. Remember the timeless adage – when the going gets tough, the tough get going. If you do not believe in yourself, who will? Yes, you can!
