Hakkunde Premiere Excites Movie Fans, Guests
The Hakkunde Movie Premiere, which took place on July 30, 2017, at the Genesis Deluxe Cinema in Lekki was characterised by colour and pomp with big names in the industry in attendance. The turnout at the premiere of the movie at the gala event as well as the conversations on the red carpet of the event buttressed the seriousness of the movie and the actors involved.
On the red carpet, ace VJ and model, Denrele Edun took centre stage in his signature heels, eccentric hairstyle and flamboyant outfit as guests and fans took turns to either grace his red carpet or pose for selfies.
Speaking about the movie, Edun didn’t conceal his excitement as he expressed his elation at the turnout the event recorded. “I am so excited to be here. I expected the night to be special, and just take a look around. What I see here is magic and people who make me proud to be a Nigerian. The Hakkunde movie is serious business and I am proud to be associated with such a brilliant work of art and I strongly recommend it to Nigerians here and abroad.”
Prominent personalities and celebrities present at the event were Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, a Nigerian lawyer and former National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lai Mohammed, award-winning stand-up comedian, AY, the lead actor, Hakkunde, Frank Donga (born Kunle Idowu) who played the role of Akande and comic actor, Afeez Oyetoro, also known as Saka.

Others are star actress, Toyin Abraham, On-Air Personality and actor, Yaw, comic actress, Chigurl, Nigerian female photographer, filmmaker and model, Uche Udoh and Hakkunde movie director, Asurf Oluseyi.
Speaking shortly after the official premiere of the movie, Hakkunde, AY described the movie as brilliant and urged the government to get even more involved in the movie industry.
“I am happy with how the movie tackles unemployment in Nigeria. Unemployment is a serious problem in Nigeria. People are beginning to understand that movie-making is not child’s play. It is something that is taking us to another level.” He went on to assert on the importance of acting and the movie business in Nigeria, “It is a very serious business and people like Asurf, Mo Abudu and maybe myself. We are trying to make people see that the movie industry is a money-making venture and investors need to come in and support what we are doing. Guess what? There is a money-back guarantee for them.”
Award-winning actor from Northern Nigeria, Ibrahim Daddy described the entire movie as a wonderful experience. He also mentioned the sterling performance the cast and crew of the movie put in. For job seekers in Nigeria, Ibrahim considers the movie an eye-opener.
