International TV Series, MTV Shuga, is Hiring in Nigeria
In today’s challenging times, a rising number of talented minds give up on their dreams for lack of opportunities to test the strength of their gifts. Many quit too early. To encourage budding talent, MTV Staying Alive Foundation, producers of award-winning Pan African TV drama series, MTV Shuga has rolled out acting jobs and opportunities for actors in Nigeria.
In line with its commitment to provide brilliant actors in Nigeria an opportunity to compete with their peers all over the world, MTV Shuga is currently on the lookout for individuals with a desire for the silver screen, to feature in the widely acclaimed drama series.
Over the course of 5 seasons, MTV Shuga has been shot on several locations including Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria. The new seasons 6 and 7 of the popular show are being shot in Lagos, Kaduna and Kano.
Since inception, the leading TV series has featured celebrated talents such as Oscar-winning actress, Lupita Nyong’o, Tiwa Savage, Emmanuel Ikubese, Nick Mutuma, Chris Attoh, Olumide Oworu, Adesua Etomi, Sharon Ezeamaka, Jemima Osunde, Vanessa Mdee and Timini Egbuson amongst several others stellar cast.
The available roles are open to male and female Nigerian actors aged between 18 and 45 years. Applications commenced on July 28 and will run through to August 23, 2017. Wondering how to apply? Follow the steps below to participate in either the online or on-ground auditions:
1. Online Auditions:
- Study the MTV Shuga audition script. Available here
- Record yourself acting out a scene from the script.
- Upload your video on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram
- Tag @MTVShuga and use hashtag #MTVShugaAudition in your post
2. On-ground Auditions:
- Date: Saturday, 12th August, 2017.
- Time: 9am – 6pm (2pm cut off time)
- Venue: Planet One, 5, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Maryland, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria
