The three expository sessions covered effective strategies on how to manage and lead remote teams, policies and procedures to put in place in order to help organizations manage cash flow and ensure business continuity through a practical approach while optimising employer brands to enable them to attract the best talent during a period of crisis. Use Cost Optimization To Manage Cash Flow
Emmanuel Michael discussed how to manage cash flow in times of crisis where he highlighted a major key point, using cost optimization. By doing this, management would need to determine how to allocate and reallocate resources to help the organization save cost. He mentioned that the decision for prioritizing these HR cost optimization initiatives must be done based on the following: Benefits and impact, Investment, Time and Risk.
He also added that Human Resource professionals should focus on the following areas for cost optimization; Benefits, Training, Recruitment and a 3, 6, or 12 months cash flow projection plan.
Emmanuel further stated that while CASH IS KING as it is needed for any business continuous survival, employees’ safety should come first, then profit should be the guiding principle for businesses as we manage cash flow during and post-COVID 19.”
Use CAN Strategy to Manage Remote Teams
Head Human Resource at Jobberman, Foluso Agbaje shared tips for leading and managing remote teams which she referred to as the CAN strategy.
- C- Care for your employees especially their mental health.
- A- Automate your business processes. Foluso encouraged participants to introduce and implement automation into their organization process.
- N- Enable your workers with the required skills and tools they need to work remotely. These tools will give them autonomy as it leads to innovation and increased productivity.
Use Pragmatic Approach To Attract Talent
Dupe Akinsuin, Head, Leadership & Capabilities Center of Expertise, Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company highlighted current realities facing businesses such as potential organizational right-sizing, increased candidates pooling, recruitment freeze, learner operations, zero/minimal recruitment cost, improved social media recruiting and emerging roles.
She stated that for sourcing the right talent, organizations need to rely on Internal sourcing and external sourcing channels while creating employee-centric policies. Modupe emphasized the use of technology-driven recruitment as now the future of hiring the right candidates.
A major highlight of the webinar was the product demonstration for Jobberman Skills Assessment, a product that allows employers to add assessments to their job postings, ensuring that all applicants undertake the assessment and therefore giving them an objective way to rank applicants.
