Jobberman partners with The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) for the maiden edition of the ‘LSETF Employment Summit’, on Wednesday, 5th February and Thursday, 6th February 2020 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Ikeja, Lagos State.
The summit, themed “Showcasing Leading Practices in Job Creation” brought together individuals and organisations from both the private and public sector to discuss and share insightful strategy, plans, achievements and interventions in the different sectors on sustainable job creation and how unemployment can be tackled in Lagos and Nigeria at large.
In the opening remarks, the Chairman, LSETF, Mrs Ifueko Omoigui-Okauru said the LSETF Employment Summit was necessary to showcase learnings in job creation as well as global best practices to help in efforts to combat chronic unemployment situation in Nigeria.
The Executive Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu ably represented by the State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs Yetunde Arobieke, stated that the success of the LSETF presents meaningful lessons for the public and private sector to tackle unemployment across Nigeria.
At the event, Jobberman provided on the spot recruitment opportunities for qualified candidates, career advisory and CV reviews. Our Chief Operating Officer Ore Boboye during the breakout session for “Skills Development for Job”, He advised both the public and private sector to partner in making vocational skills and jobs cool and acceptable in the society beyond the “white-collar jobs”.
Ore highlighted that a lot of times the problem is candidates inability to sell themselves and their skills to prospective employers.
