In this year’s first edition of Talking Talent, Jobberman hosts HR/Business Leaders in the retail and FMCG sector to a round-table with a focus on ‘Using Technology To Power Growth and Reduce Turnover In The Retail and FMCG Sector’ on February 13th 2020, at Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Jobberman’s CEO, Hilda Kabushgenga Kragha kicked off the session by welcoming guests, in her remark she opined that “…one of the things Jobberman is trying to do this year while driving workplace productivity for employers and employees, is to ensure we do not want to do it in isolation”.
She further stated that conversations like these help us at Jobberman, understand industry pain-points and helps Jobberman proffer strategic and data-driven solutions to the Retail and FMCG sector as well as across different industries.
The Chief Operating Officer at Jobberman who is also an Analytics and Talent Expert, Ore Boboye kick-started the sessions with a presentation on “Analytics & Automation in Hiring for Growth and Revenue”.
He stated that automation is not here to replace HR professionals from their jobs rather it helps them focus on productivity, strategy and processes that truly enhance the productivity of teams for growth and revenue for the business; this is attained via hiring the best-fit talent.
The panelist session on ‘Using Technology To Power Growth and Reduce Turnover In Retail and FMCG Sector’ featured Nkechi Runsewe; Head, Talent Engagement at Diageo-Guinness Nigeria, Steve Ighorimoto; Managing Director at Distell, Tosin Alexander-Idowu; Lead Consultant HR of Alister Greene Limited, Mike Banwo; Talent Acquisition at Seven-Up Bottling Company and was moderated by Foluso Agbaje; Head of HR, Jobberman Nigeria.
The panelists identified that HR & Business Leaders should ensure they work together in ‘Using Technology To Power Growth and Reduce Turnover In Retail and FMCG Sector’. Using smart technology in hiring, recruitment, candidate testing and employee engagement would lead to lower churn rates for the sector.
Head of Talent Engagement at Diageo-Guinness Nigeria, Nkechi Runsewe opined that Business Leaders should also involve their HR manager’s business decisions, this would help align HR processes and business needs.
