The Future Awards – a prominent youth platform- sorts out young, passionate and successful Nigerians who have carved niches for themselves in different spheres of the Nigerian economy and portrays them as role models by celebrating them for exuding excellence at their work. Since its first event and with outreaches to Ghana, Ethiopia and South Africa; The Future Awards has greatly inspired African generations to believe in themselves and the future of their countries. The Future Awards has also been described by respected leaders as “Africa’s biggest youth event” and has over the years produced 126 winners and over 1,000 nominees.
The Future Awards’ theme this year – Tear Down These Walls- lays emphasis on people who have fought their way through to the frontline, and have broken grounds in various industries and in their respective fields despite major challenges and setbacks in these fields and the Nigerian society at large.
Following series of public votes and Judges’ examination, The Future Awards recently released a 5-People-per-category nominees list for the awards holding this weekend in Rivers State, Port Harcourt; some names on the nominees list include: #SaveOke (Best use of Media), Mohammed Abbagana (Creative Artist of the Year), Adebisi Anita (Designer of the Year), Cobhams Asuquo (Entrepreneur of the year/Entertainment), Bez (Musician of the year), Davido (Musician of the year) and the Jobberman trio- Ayodeji Adewumni, Olalekan Olude and Opeyemi Awoyemi.
