JOB PURPOSE

Efficient inventory management is a crucial success factor for our business. The overall purpose for this role is proper management and control of inventory. This role is part of the company’s logistic chain from verification of received systems to inventory ordering and sales of appliances.

 Role holder’s responsibilities are very crucial in ensuring the company does not record inventory losses through mismanagement or poor record keeping

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inventory Management
  • Perform inventory control to ensure optimal inventory levels
  • Responsible for record keeping, processing and documentation of inventory (managing incoming & outgoing products and supplies) within the company according to established documentation process and procedures
  • Monitoring and verification of all incoming inventory from warehouses and maintaining records on the system
  • Carry out inventory demand planning and treat inventory orders according to plan
  • Generate Authorization Number (RMA) for all units
  • Reconciliation of system (computerized) data with data from physical stock count; will be required to investigate and report reasons for any discrepancies
  • Ensure inventory area is well maintained and processes are in accordance with company requirements

Key resource for periodic cycle counts

 

Sales Process

  • Coordinate sales of company appliances
  • Responsible for handling sales and reconciliation of appliances with finance department
  • Facing customers for sales of appliances and overseeing product returns to vendors

 

Inter and Intra Departmental Relationship Management

  • Treat enquiries on products and inventory
  • Ongoing work with Customer Relations and Field Service Team for receiving inventory from warehouses
  • Closed work with colleagues inside the department

 

Reporting

Prepare reports on inventory control; inventory level, price lists etc.

 

Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills

  • First degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Professional Certification in Inventory Management will be an Added Advantage
  • Excellent computer skills especially MS Excel and Word

 

Relevant Experience

  • Worked with Inventory management programs – knowledge of ERP will be an advantage
  • Handling financial aspects of sales will be an advantage
  • Good record keeping (computerized) and purchase order experience
