A manufacturing firm seeks qualified candidate to fill this role



  • Prepare work orders and bill of materials
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts
  • Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues
  • Update standard costs in the bill of materials
  • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
  • Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
  • Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles
  • Work with the materials review board to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory
  • Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses
  • Report on breakeven points by products, work centers, and factories
  • Report on margins by product and division
  • Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on material usage and spending variances
  • Perform cost accumulation tasks as a member of the target costing group




  • The candidate should have 3-5 years of accounting/finance experience, at least 2 years of cognate experience in the cost accounting position in a manufacturing company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance from a reputable university
  • Must have proficient ability in computerized accounting system such as Excel, MS Word, Peachtree, SAP, QuickBooks,
  • Must have proven supervision skills especially in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have proven report writing skills.
  • Professional qualification is an added advantage
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards
  • Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
  • Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves
  • Strong organizational and communicational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Must have the ability to collaborate with a multi-department team
  • Manufacturing industry background preferred
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
